Why we're taking part
I lost my centre of gravity, my Mummy in 2012 at the young age of 21.
Over the past 12 years, I've had to completely rebuild the person I am whilst grieving. A grief that knows no bounds and shape-shifts over the years. I am just one story, and together we support, heal and lift each other on this journey of life physically without and forever missing our Mums.
Motherless Daughters Australia provides invaluable support to all of us in the "Dead Mum Club" none of us wanted to join.
It is estimated there are 1.2 million Australian women under 44 living without their Mum. MDA supports our community of girls and women, giving us a space and support for a grief that only we know.
I invite all those in the Illawarra to walk and talk about our Mums for a good cause. This is a leisurely Wollongong Harbour route from Win stadium to Stuart Park return and is estimated at 8kms. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Meet for 10am start at the murals of WIN stadium.
